WebJul 14, 2014 · As the reflector bowls are not sold individually, a common resolution is to cover the burnt bowl in aluminum foil. I tried this myself and it worked to some degree, but had MUCH more success using an alternate method. I found a spray paint made by VHT that is built for painting engine blocks, thus it is rated to withstand high temperatures. Not remotely replaceable and the companies who sell them have no support options. Your only option is to return it if its under warranty. If its out of warranty, then unfortunately you now have a boat anchor for a projector.

Because of UV radiation, heat and sometimes a poor design the reflective layer inside the bowl gets 'burned'.
